Theme:  "Archives within Digital Environment" and "Archival Service Today and in Future – Current Issues and Problems"

International Archival Conference organized by the Archival Association of Serbia where 36 speakers presented their papers was held in Čačak from October 9 – 11, 2019. Ivan Hofman Archival Advisor from the Archives of Yugoslavia presented his paper at the Conference: Example of visualization of scientific-research work "We build the Railway, the Railway Builds Us" and Slaven Čolović, Archivist presented his paper "The Archives of Serbia in Binary System- Technological Step Forward or Digital Darkness".

Professionals belonging to the archival science from Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia and the Nederland participated at this Conference.

International Conference was organized in partnership with the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Serbia supported by the Embassy of the Republic of Italy in Belgrade – Italian Institute for Culture as well as the Embassy of the Republic of Austria in Belgrade – Austrian Cultural Forum. It is dedicated to modern approach in cleaning paintings and other polychromous art objects being part of conservation profession that improves fast and where science achievements must be followed as well as examples of good professional practice..
Dr. Tatjana Palkovljević Bugarski, Director of the Gallery of Matica Srpska opened the Conference while Dr. Marco Ciatti from Florence delivered keynote speech "Opificio della Pietre Dure". 16 papers of the experts from the institutions of protection of cultural monuments from Italy, Austria and Serbia were presented. Svetlana Perović – Ivović, Conservator Adviser presented her paper "Dry Cleaning of Paper Artefact".

 

After presentation of all the papers, modern methods of conservation were presented. Sanja Belić, Faculty of Natural Sciences from Novi Sad – Department of Chemistry Biochemistry and Protection of Environment, presented methods of creation of a buffers that are more often used in cleaning of art objects, drawing attention to the tendency of reduction of commercial solvents and increase of work based on recommendations and principles of green chemistry. Dr. Snežana Vučetić, Docent at the Department of Material Engineering at the Faculty of Technology in Novi Sad talked about estimation of successfulness of conservation treatment on the basis of measuring coordinates of colors and presented in practical way colorimeter measuring.
