On 30 April 2012, the promotion of international thematic collection of papers "Life and Work of Academician Bogumil Hrabak", organised by the Faculty of Philosophy in Priština with the temporary seat in Kosovska Mitrovica and the Archives of Yugoslavia, was held on the premises of the Archives of Yugoslavia. The speakers at the promotion included Prof. Emeritus Zoran Lakić PhD, Fellow of Montenegrin Academy of Arts and Sciences; Smiljana Đurović PhD, Principal Research Fellow with the Institute of Contemporary History, Prof. Dragi Maliković PhD, Dean of Faculty of Philosophy and editor of the collection; and Miladin Milošević, Acting Director General of the Archives of Yugoslavia. Academician Desanka Kovačević-Kojić, Fellow of Serbian Academy of Arts and Sciences, also addressed the gathering and shared with everybody present her personal memories of Academician Bogumil Hrabak.
International thematic collection “Life and Work of Academician Bogumil Hrabak”, which was promoted at the Archives of Yugoslavia, is a memorial to this scientist and academician, who was also a founder of History Chair at the Faculty of Philosophy in Priština, now relocated to Kosovska Mitrovica. The proceedings resulted from compiling the scientific papers presented at the international conference under the same name, “Life and Work of Academician Bogumil Hrabak”, held on 6-8 October 2011, where 42 papers were presented, 35 of which made their way to this collection.
Besides other guests, the promotion was also attended by history students from years I, II, III, and IV of the Faculty of Philosophy in Priština with the temporary seat in Kosovska Mitrovica. During their visit to the Archives the students also learned about the history and activities of the Archives of Yugoslavia, as well as the functioning of the Archives library and reading room. In addition, as part of their visit, the students also saw the exhibition of archival documents entitled “We are building the railroad – the railroad is building us” - Youth Work Actions in Yugoslavia 1946 – 1951, with the expert guidance from the author of the exhibition, Ivan Hofman. This visit of the students from Kosovska Mitrovica to the Archives of Yugoslavia has now become regular practice, repeated year after year as part of the cooperation between the Faculty of Philosophy in Priština with the temporary seat in Kosovska Mitrovica and the Archives of Yugoslavia.
