The third participation in Museum Night

2010-05-17 Category: Events in the Archives

The Archives participated for the third time at the already traditional Museum Night. That night on 15th May 2010, from 6 p.m. to 2 a.m. after midnight, more than 500 fans of this attractive manifestation visited the Archives. Rainy and unstable weather, with occasional showers, presented no obstacle to visitors who came to see the exhibition of archival documents The Yugoslav Government 1918-2006. Besides the exhibition, their attention was caught by films from the Archives of the Yugoslav Cinematheque about the Little Entente, the opening of the Zemun Bridge, the Conference of Non-Aligned Countries in Belgrade and the regency of Prince Pavle Karadjordjevic. They were also interested in the standing exhibition The Historical Maps of Yugoslavia, as well as in the presentation produced for the 60th anniversary of the Archives of Yugoslavia. The visitors came in groups, individually, and also families with children. They were provided the opportunity to refer to historians-archivists for more detailed information about the exhibited documents, the building of the Archives of Yugoslavia, a cultural monument, as well as about archival work itself. Visitors were able to collect flyers about the exhibition and the publications of the Archives of Yugoslavia and, as a small token of welcome, sweets were served.
