In the beginning of 2017 the Archives of Yugoslavia started planning and preparing years long project DIGITIZATION OF PHOTO ARCHIVES OF TANJUG. The first phase of the project (2017-2018) anticipates completion of data processing and digitizing of photo material from 842 filing folders (about 80 meters of archival material). Files contain lists with contact copies of different dimensions (Lajka 6x4, 6x6, 6x9, 9x12) for period from 1946-1996 that are chronologically and thematically systematized according to the classification scheme of the fond creator. Preliminary estimations of the professional team indicate that files contain between 800000 and 1000000 contact copies.
Part of the photograph material from the fond AJ-112 (Newspaper Agency “Tanjug”) has been digitized and it is accessible for survey and searching through in the library of the Archives of Yugoslavia since July 2017. Number of digitized files will be regularly updated on the monthly level along with the further work on the Project that could be surveyed on the library computers.
