The exhibition on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the Algerian Revolution was officially opened at the Archives of Vojvodina in Novi Sad on Wednesday, November 20, 2024, organized by the Embassy of the People's Democratic Republic of Algeria, the Society of Friends of Algeria, the Vojvodina Archives, and the Archives of Yugoslavia.
The opening speeches were delivered by: Aleksandra Ćirić Bošković, Provincial Secretary for Culture, Public Information, and Relations with Religious Communities, Dr. Nebojša Kuzmanović, Director of the Archives of Vojvodina, Marko Jelić, President of the Society of Friends of Algeria, Dragan Teodosić, Head of the Department for Publishing Archival Materials and Inter-Archival Cooperation at the Archives of Yugoslavia, and H.E. Mr. Fatah Mahraz, Ambassador of the People's Democratic Republic of Algeria, who officially opened the exhibition.
The exhibition features photographs and documents from the Archives of Yugoslavia that testify to the Yugoslav-Algerian bilateral relations from the mid-1950s to the early 1980s, with a special focus on the support Yugoslavia provided to Algeria’s struggle for independence.
This is the fourth exhibition jointly organized by the Archives of Yugoslavia and the Embassy of the People's Democratic Republic of Algeria. The authors of the exhibition are Nada Pantelić and Dušan Jončić, while the editor is Dragan Teodosić.
The exhibition will be open until December 2, 2024.
