PRESENTATION OF COLLECTED PAPERS YUGOSLAVIA – INDONESIA

Belgrade, September 19, 2014.

 

In front of numerous guests, representatives of diplomatic corps in the Republic of Serbia (Ambassador of Algeria, Angola, Belarus, Iran, Lebanon, Morocco, Deputy Ambassador of Argentina and the representatives of the Embassy of the Russian Federation), scientists and cultural figures, publication Collected Papers YUGOSLAVIA – INDONESIA 1945-1967 research work and documents was presented in the Archives of Yugoslavia on September 19th, 2014.

The audience was at the very beginning greeted by Ivan Tasovac, Minister of Culture and Information of the Republic of Serbia and Miladin Milošević Acting Director of the Archives of Yugoslavia, after that, H.E.Samuel Samson, Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia , Milisav Peić ,Republic of Serbia Ambassador in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Aleksandar Raković PhD from the Institute for the Recent History of Serbia, Ljubodrag Simić, Professor, Corresponding Member of SASA and Miladin Milošević Acting Director of the Archives of Yugoslavia talked about this publication. It was highlighted that this publication shed light upon development of Indonesian – Yugoslav relations covering the period from the first diplomatic document about Indonesia (1947) through the visit of Ahmed Sukarno, President of Indonesia to Yugoslavia 1956,1958,1960,1963,1964 and visit of Josip Broz Tito, President of Yugoslavia to Indonesia, 1958 to the first meeting of President Suharto and President Tito (1967). Mutual visits and negotiations contributed to strengthen interrelation and cooperation in political, diplomatic, economic and other fields, to bring points of view closer together regarding certain important matters of bilateral international relations, presented in personal messages exchanged between presidents of those two countries.

Publication of Collected Papers is joint project of the Archives of Yugoslavia, the Archive of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia, Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in the Republic of Serbia and the National Archives of the Republic of Indonesia and the authors of the book are Ljubodrag Dimić, Aleksandar Raković and Miladin Milošević. Introduction to the introductory study YUGOSLAVIA AND INDOENSIA, TITO AND SUKARNO 1945-1967, contribution to the history of nonalignment movement wrote Ljubodrag Dimić, Aleksandar Raković and Miladin Milošević.

227 documents were published from the archival material of the Archives of Yugoslavia (Fond AJ-837 Cabinet of the President of the Republic), archival material of Diplomacy Archives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia (MFA RS DA), other documentation, newspapers , foreign and domestic scientific literature. Publication is complemented with depicted articles from daily paper Politika about Indonesia from 1945 to 1947, short biographies of prominent persons and register of personal names.
