The opening of Yugoslav Emigrant Periodicals in North and South America 1914-1945 was held in the big exhibition hall of the Archives of Serbia and Montenegro.
There were around 220 original items of emigrant press and other editions on public display, all which were published by Yugoslav emigrants in New York, Los Angeles, Pittsburgh, Chicago, Detroit, Santiago, Buenos Aries, Magallanes, Antofagasta and other cities. Amongst the journals on display there were: Serbian Guard ( "Srpska straža"), Yugoslav Homeland ("Jugoslovenska domovina"), "Srbadija", Yugoslavia ("Jugoslavija"), United Serbianship ("Ujedinjeno srpstvo"), Yugoslav State ("Jugoslovenska država"), The American voice of Montenegro ("Amerikanski glas Crnogoraca"), The Voice of Delav ("Delavski glas"). The photographs of chief editors of some of the journals and various other documents were also on display.

The exhibition authors are: Predrag Krejić -historian and archivist, Suzana Srndović- librarian.
Acting Director of the Archives of Serbia and Montenegro Miladin Milosević spoke about the exhibition and the opening was conducted on the 7th of May 2008 by Mr. Vojislav Brajović - Minister of Culture of the Republic of Serbia.
The exhibition will close on the 7th of June 2008.
With this exhibition the Archives participated in the Night of Museum event which was held on the May 17, 2008.
