Dr Tatjana Kikić was born in Vršac on 17 July 1972. She completed her primary and secondary education in Aranđelovac. In 1997, she graduated from the Faculty of Philosophy, University of Belgrade, Department of Sociology. In 2015, she earned her PhD with the dissertation “The Role of Archives in Cultural Memory: Concepts, Theories and Methods of Preserving National Identity” at the Department of Communication Studies, Faculty of Culture and Media, John Naisbitt University, receiving the highest grade (10/10).

From March 1998 until 2022, she was employed at the Archives of Serbia. She passed the professional archival examination in 2001, obtained the professional title of Senior Archivist in 2011, and was promoted to Archival Counsellor in 2017.

In 2007, she established and organized the educational programme School of Archival Studies for Records Creators of the Archives of Serbia, which has since been conducted on an annual basis on average. Within these training workshops, she has served as both lecturer and instructor in the fields of records management and archival administration, protection of archival records at their point of creation, records appraisal, archival registration procedures, records disposal, and the transfer of archival materials. By 2026, approximately twenty such seminars had been organized by the Archives of Serbia.

Between 2007 and 2009, she attended the International Archival School in Italy, organized by the International Institute for Archival Science of Trieste and Maribor.

Since 2008, she has been a permanent member of the Professional Council of the Archives of Serbia.

From 2010 to 2014, she served as President of the Archival Society of Serbia. Prior to this appointment, she acted as Secretary of the Society and was a member of the editorial board of Arhivski glasnik (Archival Herald), the Society’s professional bulletin, later becoming its editor.

From 2013 to 2022, she held the position of Head of the Service for the Protection of Archival Records and Registry Material Outside Archives at the Archives of Serbia.

Since 2015, she has been teaching and examining the subject Office Records Management within the professional archival examination programme for employees of public archives in the Republic of Serbia, organized by the Archives of Serbia.

In 2021, she was appointed a member of the Managing Board of the Archives of Serbia.

In March 2022, by decision of the National Academy for Public Administration, she was accredited as a trainer and lecturer in office and archival records management within the module Public Administration System.

She has delivered more than fifty professional seminars in the field of records management and archiving for employees in both the public and private sectors.

From 2022 until May 2026, she served as Head of the Archives Department of the Serbian Business Registers Agency.

In 2022, she received the Golden Archive Award in the category of Distinguished Archivist, presented by the Dr Aleksandar Arnautović Foundation at the Archives of Serbia, in recognition of her outstanding contribution to the archival profession.

In 2023, as Head of the Archives Department of the Serbian Business Registers Agency, she accepted on behalf of the Agency the award for the Best Records Management Office, presented by the Archival Society of Serbia.

She has participated in numerous professional and academic conferences in Serbia and abroad.

By Decision No. 24-119-4491/2026 of the Government of the Republic of Serbia, dated 7 May 2026, she was appointed Acting Director of the Archives of Yugoslavia.
