Theme: "Archival Theory and Practice"
This year's seminar "Archival Theory and Practice" was attended by 17 archivists from 16 countries. Through lectures, thematic workshops and visits to archives, the attendees were offered the opportunity to learn about the current practice in France, as well as to present their own experience. The topics reviewed were: the life cycle of a document, legal and technical issues regarding archiving electronic documents, durability of electronic documents and formats for permanent preservation, results of certain digitalization projects and factors affecting the quality of web presentations of cultural institutions. The representative of the Archives of Yugoslavia, Olivera Porubović - Vidović, spoke about the new web site of the Archives.

Theme: "The Liberation of Belgrade 1944"
The international scientific conference "The Liberation of Belgrade 1944" was held on 20 and 21 October 2009 before a full audience at the hall of the Archives of Yugoslavia. The conference was organized under the auspices of the Ministry of Labour and Social Policy of the Republic of Serbia on the occasion of the 65th anniversary of the liberation of Belgrade. The Institute of Contemporary History of Serbia, the Archives of Yugoslavia, the Institute of Slavistics of the Russian Academy of Sciences and the Russian Institute of Strategic Studies were the initiators and organizers of this scientific conference. Around 40 prominent Russian and Serbian historians made their presentations on the topic of “The Liberation of Belgrade 1944”.
The texts of the presentations of the participants of the conference will be published in the Collection of Papers from the International Scientific Conference The Liberation of Belgrade 1944, Belgrade, 20-21 October 2009.
Following the end of the conference on 21 October 2009 at 13h the participants visited the court grounds on Dedinje.
The press conference was held at the Russian House at 18h on 21 October 2009.

Theme: "Technical problems and problems of contents of the conventional and electronic storing in the archives"
The International Council on Archives in Radenci entitled Technical and Filed Related Problems of Traditional and Electronic Archiving celebrated this year its 30th anniversary of continual existence. It is quite exceptional for a guild congregation on the territory of former Yugoslavia to be able to boast such a long tradition and continuity of existence. Besides a considerable number of ceremonious manifestations, the International Council presented an opportunity to summarize annual results, but also to present the plans of archival representatives from Brazil, Italy, Rumania, Austria, the Czech Republic, Serbia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Slovenia as the host country. Our colleague Branka Doknić, Ph.D., spoke of the new profile of employees of the Archives of Yugoslavia, as a cultural heritage institution.
