Theme:  "Yugoslav – Algerian Relations 1954–1980"

The international scientific conference "Yugoslav – Algerian Relations 1954–1980" was held in the National Archives of Algeria on 27 and 28 January 2013, with the participation of historians from Serbia and Algeria. This scientific convention was one of the series of joint projects of the Archives of Yugoslavia and the Directorate General of the National Archives of Algeria, based on the Memorandum of Understanding between the two Archives, and as part of celebrating the 50th anniversary of Algeria’s independence and establishment of diplomatic relations between Yugoslavia and Algeria. 
The Conference was opened by the heads of the two Archives, Abdelmajid Chikhi and Miladin Milošević. They presented the results of bilateral cooperation of the Archives so far (organising exhibitions, preparing collections of materials, creating a broader platform for future scientific cooperation of researchers from both countries) and named some of the tasks undertaken by the Archives of Yugoslavia and the Directorate General of the National Archives of Algeria  with regard to publishing the collection of papers from the conference and documents about Algerian-Yugoslav relations. The Republic of Serbia Ambassador to Algeria, Mr Miroslav Šestović, also spoke at the opening of the Conference.
The group of Serbian historians included Dragan Bogetić PhD, Principal Research Fellow with the Institute of Contemporary History in Belgrade, who presented the paper "Yugoslavia and Algerian People’s Struggle for National Liberation 1954–1962"; Professor at University of Belgrade Faculty of Philosophy Ljubodrag Dimić PhD, a Corresponding Member of the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts, with the paper "Yugoslavia and Algeria from Belgrade to Algerian Summit 1961–1973"; Assistant Professor at University of Belgrade Faculty of Philosophy Aleksandar Životić PhD, with "Yugoslavia and Arab World: Relations with Algeria in 1970s"; Dragomir Bondžić PhD, Research Associate with the Institute of Contemporary History in Belgrade with the paper "Education and Professional Development of Algerian Students and Experts in Yugoslavia". Jovan Čavoški MSc, Research Associate with the Institute for Recent Hisotry of Serbia in Belgrade, prepared a paper on "Yugoslavia, Great Powers and Algeria in the Cold War", but was unable to attend the Conference.
The Algerian side was represented by Benafri Chaib PhD and Tablit Ali PhD.
Over the following months the proceedings from the Conference will be published with the papers of all the participants in Serbian, Arabic, English and Spanish, thus being made available to the broader public.

Theme:  "Technical and Field related Problems of Traditional and Electronic Archiving"

International gathering of archivists "Technical and Field related Problems of Traditional and Electronic Archiving" this year as well attracted the attention of a large number of archivists from Austria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Slovakia, Slovenia, Serbia, Romania, Croatia and Montenegro. The original papers presented, dealing with both theory and practice in archivistics, once again showed the many facets of the important duties and responsibility of this vocation. The representative of the Archives of Yugoslavia, Olivera Porubović-Vidović, presented the paper entitled "Commercial Software Has an Alternative".

Theme:  "Economy of Banjaluka and Bosnian Krajina in Inception and Development of Capitalism 1878–1941–1941"

Two-day academic conference "Economy of Banjaluka and Bosnian Krajina in Inception and Development of Capitalism 1878–1941" was organised  during the celebration of 60th anniversary of organised archival activities of the Republic of Srpska. Representatives of the Archives of Yugoslavia presented their papers at the conference: Nada Petrović ("State Trade Academy in Banjaluka 1918-1941") and Gojko Malović PhD ("Construction of Traffic Routes of National Importance in Bosnian Krajina 1918-1941").
